Ball Speed and Control.
Bowl speed: The speed that the bowl will travel towards the head and is generated by the pendulum arm swing and forward body movement.
All movement should be as natural and as easy as possible.
Ball speed is both a mental and physical process.
- * Concentrate on how far, then how fast – focus on the finishing point of the bowl “judgement of sped”during the pe shot routine.
- * Adjust the speed of delivery according to the result of the previous bowl.
*If your bowl is too long – bowl a little slower by slowing down the delivery action.
*If it is too short – bowl a little faster by quickening the delivery action
*The body action consciously responds to the thought pattern to provide consistency.
*The speed of the bowl is controlled by the arm speed which in turn controls body movement and the amount of momentum being generated.
Therefore controlling the arm speed is the most important factor in the delivery action.
NB Only two things can go wrong.
If the bowl is too wide or too narrow, adjust the reference point and thus the line.
If the bowl is too short or too long, adjust the bowl speed.

Rules:
Placement of the jack.
When the jack is incorrectly delivered the opposing player/team may place the mat in a position of their choice and deliver the jack again. If the jack is incorrectly delivered again the jack is placed on the 2m line and the mat placed by the first team at a position of their choice.
Remember the jack has to be delivered a minimum of 23 metres.
Etiquette:
During the game do not move around the head when your opponent is about to deliver his bowl. Stand well back from the head, keep quiet and do not do anything that would distract your opponent. Wait until the bowl has been delivered before moving.
