Thanks to organizers Tim and Neil and Pam for the nibbles.
Good luck to the mixed pairs champions Bev Morel and Jonathan Flint in the c of c at EP on Sunday and the triples champions Lance Pascoe, Trevor Pascoe replacing an injured Gary Lawson and Kelvin Scott playing Saturday at Burnside and Bev Morel, Nylla Tamati and Tania Woodham, sub for Christine Buchanan, at Sumner.
The Pascoe team won all games and will be continuing on semi finals day, April 18, playing Burnside. The women’s tiples were narrowly beaten by Morrison Ave in their second game. The mixed pairs went down at the quarter final stage beaten by the highly ranked Burnside pair of R. Hocking and O. Mancer.
It can be reported that the green received marvellous praise from many participants on Sunday. Well done Steve.
Thanks also to MaryAnn for doing the necessary coffee/tea etc on the day and to Tim for doing the opening and the bar..

Congratulations to Kelvin Scott and Gary Lawson who received their third silver star after winning the National Intercentre.

EP well represented in the successful Canterbury men’s intercentre victory.

The Elmburn Shield.

On a fine but breezy day the Elmburn Shield was up for grabs for the 46th time, the first in 1971.
Tournament organiser Neil Johnstone laying down the rules of engagement. [The most wins; if equal the number of points scored.]
Burnside regained the Elmburn Shield by 9½ – 6½.
A very pleasant afternoon, breezy conditions making bowling tricky at times but all games played in a wonderful spirit. Congratulations to Burnside, EP will be out to take the shield next season.
Total: Burnside 23 EP 22 since the first one in 1971.
