St. Albans-Merivale’s Proudest Grandmother!!!!!
Bea Heaphy-Hall, 18 year old world junior gold medallist, has been elevated into the New Zealand rowing team’s senior eight for the world championships at Lake Karapiro.

Rowing experts expect her to have a very promising future in the sport. Good luck Bea and well done Julia.
The eight came a very creditable third in the repechage where only a very small time difference was recorded. A great result for the rowers; 3 golds, 3 silvers and 4 bronze made for a better result than even the rowing people expected.

Members of the Elmwood Club playing a round of their championship fours on the Adams Green. They would have enjoyed their time with us as they won most of the raffles. None the less we thoroughly enjoyed their company.

Conditions were nigh on perfect for the first of the Carlton sponsored twilight bowls which began tonight with a total of 14 teams participating.
SAM was one of the first clubs to be involved in what has now become very commonplace. It certainly has become an important part of Elmwood Park’s revenue earning.

Bowls New Zealand was disappointed to announce the cancellation of that year’s North vs South event. With the current uncertainty around alert levels in the North Island, and the impact on travel, this years event is simply not possible.
