From the President. May & June 2020.

Presidential Update.
In some respect the last couple of months have flown past and I’m sure most of you have used the lockdown time in different ways and trust you all have come through well.
The Friday night catch ups will allow us to associate and chat which is something we have been missing during the lockdown. Erin, Dave and Mick have cleaned and prepared the bar areas etc for us to attend Friday nights safely and as required under level 2 restrictions. Special thanks to them for their great work.
If you have any information about our people it would be great to hear from you and allow to share. Our life member Ann de lambert has had a couple of stays in hospital recently but assures me, in her own style she’s “coming good”.
Owen and Lorraine Jones have moved into a rest home in Caledonian Rd. Due to the isolation situation poor Owen was not able to see Lorraine for a time which was very distressing for them as we can imagine. Keen to hear from you all.
At the clubs executive meeting on Monday, dates were set for the AGM and forum. Those dates being Forum on Sunday 12 July and week later 19 July for AGM. Also, the club’s annual dinner and prizegiving has been cancelled for this year and a special prizegiving will take place on opening day next season.
Reminders will be advised in due course.
Future of the Elmwood Park Bowling Club. A decision was made to seek and engage a consultant to help us in our club’s future planning. A lot of things have changed in recent years and particularly in the last 2 months, and we are keen to get a professional opinion to help us make the right future decisions.
Keep well and keep safe and communicate with each other.
Best regards

8 – 6 – 20     Note from President Pam

Hi all.
I trust you are enjoying these winter days but maybe not the winter nights.
As we await a decision to go the level 1 and hopefully a little more normality to return, I want you to think about our club’s sponsors and if you can give them your support. More than ever we need our sponsors as we are sure it is going to be more difficult to get funding from our traditional charitable trusts.
I’m sure our sponsors like all other business will be doing it hard and our support will be appreciated. Please let them know you are from the Elmwood Park Bowling Club.
